'Make Your Move' is a 4-year project that focuses on getting people back into physical activity after their recent move.
The project offers a free 2-month membership at a local leisure facility (subject to availability) which enables you to use their facilities as much as you like. If leisure centres aren’t of interest to you, we are also able to link you with other activities that you are interested in or might like to try. We can contribute to the cost or fully fund them for a set period. Examples of what other participants have done include, going on daily walks with a walking group or running with a local athletics club.
The project originally focused on Norwich but has spread out around Norfolk over the past 3 years working with leisure partners in South Norfolk, North Norfolk, Breckland and most recently West Norfolk. The project has also started engaging with leisure partners in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire and aiming to expand into Essex in 2022. This offer is available to all social housing residents, not just Cotman Housing tenants.
As a housing provider, we recognise that there is often pressure and worries when you are moving which can put sport and physical activity very low on a person's agenda even if this is something they had previously enjoyed. We want help with this to give you the chance to get back into something you enjoy.
Make Your Move is funded by the Sport England Core Market Fund which focuses on life changes that may result in people becoming less physically active.
